Burn Table Operator

JOB TITLE:               Burn Table Operator

SUERVISOR:            Production Manager

DEPARTMENT:        Direct

STATUS:                  Non-Exempt (Hourly)

LOCATION:              Two Harbors, MN

Job Summary:

The Burn Table Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of a CNC Plasma Table, to cut sheets of steel into predetermined parts of various sizes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Program the automatic operation of the plasma table to cut parts according to specifications and inspect the finished parts for accuracy and quality.
  • Observe operation and periodically verify conformance of parts to process sheet, specifications and blueprint data
  • Maintain the cleanliness of work area including all equipment and machinery
  • Use overhead crane to load/unload material
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Blueprint reading skills and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Proficient in shop mathematics and layout techniques.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hand tools such as grinders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Works well with others.
  • The ability to operate overhead cranes
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
  • The ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high-paced working environment
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations
  • Maintain a safe and productive working environment

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year previous experience setting up and running CNC machinery
  • 1 year of previous experience with overhead crane operations
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with most frequent lift up to 20 pounds

SALARY:                  $24.00-$32.26/hour
