Warehouse Associate

JOB TITLE:               Warehouse Associate

SUERVISOR:            Warehouse Manager

DEPARTMENT:        Indirect

STATUS:                  Non-Exempt (Hourly)

LOCATION:              Two Harbors, MN

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for unloading, unboxing and delivering parts to designated locations. Ensuring quality and accuracy of deliveries. Maintain appropriate paperwork in data entry system.  Cycle Count core components weekly. Transporting materials, supplies, and finished products as needed per production staff to increase output and flow on shop floor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

              

  • Ensures orderly production and distribution by maintaining inventory levels and point of use stocking.
  • Delivering production materials and supplies where needed.
  • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials in warehouse.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording inventory, and reporting shortages.
  • Maintains manufacturing area free from debris and dirt and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
  • Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery and assembly lines.
  • Performs any unskilled job at the plant.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in warehouse and work areas.
  • Operate forklift in compliance with certification requirements.
  • Develop visual trigger system to ensure re-order of parts flows back to Purchasing office in a timely manner.
  • Receiving incoming shipments, inspects, labels and store them in designated areas.
  • Enters receipt information into electronic system as instructed

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hand tools such as sanders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, Results orientated.
  • Ability to pass Forklift certification

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Lean, JIT and Six Sigma knowledge preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Travel as needed.
